Description
Mexican Arnica flowers are in the daisy or sunflower family known as Asteraceae. Their primary usage in traditional medicine has been for rebuilding and repairing skin by stimulating blood flow with their high nutrient value. Because of this, products containing Arnica can promote speedy healing of tissues, such as Arnica pain relief creams or balms for muscle soreness.
Mexican Arnica can often be found in oils and creams for bruises or other skin irritations along with body and scalp products. Soothing herbs, flowers and plant substances such as Arnica are gaining popularity in beauty applications such as skin and hair care products. Sources of stress, excess sun, weather exposure, or pollution may cause everyday wear and tear to the body. Plant ingredients that promote tissue healing for minor skin irritations or injuries can also help face and body skin repair itself more efficiently. This can help skin and hair maintain its internal and external balance along with promoting a youthful and healthy appearance.
When fresh, Mexican Arnica flowers are a bright yellow color and have a herbaceous smell. When dried the blossoms are a mix of yellow, gold and brown and retain their earthy aroma.
They contain similar soothing properties to the well-known Arnica Montana, which is primarily grown in Europe and upper North American regions. However, Mexican Arnica is also known to be much less toxic than typical Arnica Montana preparations.
