Our bulk Shea Butter and bulk Cocoa Butter blocks are two of our biggest sellers, but that doesn’t mean they’re the same. Both butters come from different sources and also have unique benefits.
We’re able to offer you our 100% pure, organic, unrefined Shea Butter thanks to the hard work of an amazing group of women in Ghana, Africa. These women use nuts from the Karite (or Shea) tree to create a rich, moisturizing butter.
Our pure, unrefined, organic Cocoa Butter, on the other hand, finds its roots in the Americas, where the decadent butter is extracted from the seeds of the cocoa bean.
Our Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter are both fantastic bases for skincare products. Shea butter is full of vitamins, including A and E, which are crucial for healthy skin. Cocoa Butter is also plentiful in vitamins and nutrients and helps support the immune system through a compound called cocoa mass polyphenol.
Both butters soothe and heal stretch marks, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions. They melt at body temperature, which allows them to sink luxuriously into your skin with ease.
So what’s the biggest difference between Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter? Most of our customers say it’s the scent. Shea Butter has a light, slightly nutty aroma that you can easily compliment with essential oils or other fragrances. While Cocoa Butter, on the other hand, smells just like chocolate. Mmmmm…
