African Black Soap (also known as black soap) is a 100% natural soap for cleaning the skin, scalp and hair. Its amazing ingredients and properties not only deeply clean but also replenish vital nutrients which help clear up dry, cracked skin, blemishes, irritations and scalp build-up.

Our African Black Soap is made in Ghana using an authentic recipe which has been passed down for centuries. It contains only 5 completely natural ingredients. A little goes a long way so this 16 oz bar of soap should last a while. We recommend slicing off a piece and storing the rest until you are ready for more.

Weight: 16 oz.

Our authentic African Black Soap is made by a women coop in Ghana and imported in small batches so it is fresh. This soap is popular for its deep cleaning and nourishing properties and the fact that it is 100% natural with no chemicals or fragrances.

Authentic Black Soap has a distinctive dark brown color which comes from its ingredients. It is safe for all skin types and particularly beneficial to balancing out oily skin, soothing irritated skin and cleansing sensitive skin.

For regular use it is best to lather the soap bar and spread onto the skin. You can also use the bar directly on the skin to exfoliate or follow our recipe to make it into a liquid soap.

How to Use

Our Black Soap comes in a large 16 oz brick. To use it, cut off a slice, leave the rest in its original packaging or in a sealed container and store in a cool, dry place.

Use the slice of soap when washing your hands, face or body until it is used up. For normal use, lather in your hands and apply the lather to the body and face. For added exfoliation lightly rub the bar directly against the skin. Or use it as a liquid soap as per the recipe on the description page.

Once done with the first slice of soap, repeat by cutting off another piece, and continue that way until you have it all used up.

I have used this soap for almost a year now and have loved the effect. I suffer from eczema all my life, and this soap along with other health changes has helped reduce it all together.

Could you kindly let me know if you will be opening delivery to Europe soon or will it only be US.

    Thank you

With all the limitations that Covid19 is causing, we expect to get our Black Soap in stock in August of 2020.

I love this product. I purchased several bars in early Spring 2018. I attempted to order more for family and friends around November 2018 but the item was out of stock. I was hoping it would be back in stock by now. Can someone please give me the scoop on what’s going on? Why has the soap been unavailable for so long? When can I expect the soap to be in stock?

    • Isabella Duvall

We have been out of stock because the last batch we received from Ghana was very crumbly and dry, it did not pass our quality control and we had to return it. We have a fresh batch being produced as of Feb 13 2019, we are hoping to get it here in 2 weeks and back in stock. Authentic Black Soap is not made anywhere in the US, so when something goes wrong with a batch, we have to start over – but fingers crossed, we will have this resolved soon. Thank you for your patience 🙂

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! This soap has saved my complexion and for the first time in my life, I have clear, radiant skin! I remember when I first started using it, my face felt tight after I’d wash it. But my skin quickly adjusted and realized the good that was coming its way. This is quality stuff, and no added artificial nonsense like some of the black soaps they sell in stores. I also feel safe using it on my body, lady parts, and hair. It works for everything. Get stubborn black marks off my boyfriends hands too, from a hard days work. Be sure not to let it sit in water as it will dissolve. You can even put a little in bottle with water and make shampoo or body wash! Amazing stuff from the precious mother earth and I recommend it highly!
